Description
CASSIA OBOVATA POWDER “neutral henna”
Cassia is what is sometimes called neutral henna. It gives no / a negligible color effect on light and gray hair, and no color at all on darker hair, but gives the same caring effect on the hair as henna.
Since Cassian has a repairing effect, it is a good idea to make a wrap with cassia before you dye with henna if your hair is damaged and frizzy. Then you get a better and smoother result from the henna.
Do this:
Mix cassia with hot water or some herbal decoction to yogurt consistency. Let the batter cool to a comfortable temperature and apply to the hair. If your hair is worn, you can concentrate mainly on the lengths. Let it sit for 15-45 minutes (This is not an exact science so you can actually sit for as short or as long as you feel like, but less than 15 minutes is not that meaningful.) Then rinse your hair thoroughly and let it air dry.
It is also possible to mix cassia directly in henna before dyeing. Then do the same as above, but stir the cassia batter into the henna just before you are going to dye.
More about Cassia:
Cassia is similar to Henna in terms of the effect on the hair. It attaches to the hair in the same way as the Lawsone molecules (the dye itself in henna), but Cassian does not really give any color.
If you mix Cassia with water, you have almost no color effect at all, but you use it to strengthen the hair and scalp or to mix a henna mixture to reduce the color effect.
Cassia is a classic Ayurvedic herb, and has been considered effective against fungi and mites, for example, and has traditionally been used against eczema and itching. It is also said to be able to alleviate dandruff problems.
Can also give color:
Cassia can also give a little golden tone to blonde hair if you mix it with acid such as lemon juice and let it rest overnight.
Use it on lifeless blonde hair to freshen up the color, or add a little henna (a few teaspoons per 100 grams of Cassia) to get a strawberry blonde color. Do not take too much henna if you do not want to turn red – it quickly takes over the color result.
NOTE! If you have a water that contains a lot of minerals, such as manganese or iron, cassia can in some cases give unexpected color results. This is because the minerals have been stored in your hair. Therefore, try a loop first if you are unsure of the nature of your water.
